Its effect of destroying all the opponent's monsters is a reference to the card Burst Stream of Destruction—which has a similar effect.

The Abyss of Blue is a phrase from the summon chant used by Seto Kaiba for the original Deep-Eyes White Dragon in Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions.

The Calling Flute of Dragon Guidance is a remake of the original Dragon-Calling Flute used by Seto Kaiba in the anime/manga.

The artwork is a reference to a scene from Seto Kaiba's Duel against Yugi Muto in the Battle City Semi-Finals in which he uses the flute to Special Summon two of his Blue-Eyes White Dragons while the third is already on his field.

Its drawing effect is a reference to a similar effect the original flute had in the manga after it was sent to the Graveyard.

The Final-Strike Dragon is a reference to TACTICAL-TRY DECK: Cyber Dragon the Final-Strike Dragon, an OCG preconstructed Deck focused around the Cyber Dragon theme.

Its effect being able to add Limiter Removal from the player's Deck to their hand is a reference to how Ryo Marufuji used Limiter Removal on the original Cyber End Dragon during his Graduation Duel against Judai Yuki in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX anime.

The Mechanized Light Dragon is named after STRUCTURE DECK: Thunderstrike of the Mechanized Light Dragon, an OCG Structure Deck focused around Cyber Dragon.

Its effect of negating the effects of an opponent's monster is a reference to the Trap Card Infinite Impermanence—which has a similar effect and features Cyber Dragon Infinity in its artwork.

Future Fusion Nova is a remake of the original Future Fusion, and its effect being able to instantly perform the Fusion Summon (unlike its original counterpart) is a more accurate adaptation of the original's anime counterpart.

Quetzahcoatl is a twist on Quetzalcoatl (Nahuatl for "Feathered Serpent")—a Mesoamerican deity of the Aztec and other cultures, depicted as a feathered serpent and associated with wind, wisdom, the sky, and the morning star (Venus). In the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime, this deity was considered to be another representation of the Crimson Dragon.

The artwork depicts a scene from CROSS GAME, the second ending theme of the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime, in which the Crimson Dragon is shown surrounded by the Signer Dragons.

Burning Soul is the attack name of the original Scar-Red Nova Dragon in the 5D's anime.

Its effect of increasing its ATK by 2000 points is a reference to the amount by which the original Scar-Red Nova Dragon increased its own ATK in its first appearance in the anime.

Its effect of being able to add any card from the Graveyard to the player's hand is a reference to the Magic Card Burning Soul (which has a similar effect), used by Jack Atlas in the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's manga.

Red Demon's Chain is a reference to the Continuous Trap Card Demon's Chain, which was used by Jack Atlas in the anime and has a similar effect to this card. (The Demon used in each of their Japanese card names differs based on the card: this card uses a long-vowel mark for the e in Demon, while the original does not, making it correspond to the Japanese name of Red Demon's Dragon.)

Photon Howling is the effect name of the original Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon's negation effect in the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL anime.

Galaxy-Eyes Photon Change Dragon is a reference to Kaito Tenjo's Photon Change ability in the ZEXAL anime/manga ability, which allowed him to transform into a battle-ready mode suitable for hunting Numbers and made him immune to their negative effects on the user's mind.

The moniker Sparkling used in its kanji subname is part of a common phrase (Sparkling Light) that appears in the names of several other Photon/Tachyon/Galaxy-related cards as well. Here, the kanji for Light is instead used to write out the Japanese term for Photon right after the kanji for Sparkling, forming a sort of portmanteau.

Galaxy Defense Robot - Orbital 7 is based on the attack-mode transformation used by Orbital 7 (Kaito Tenjo's robot companion) in the ZEXAL anime.

Galaxy Defense Robot is a play on Super-Defense Robot—referring to the monsters used by Orbital 7 when he Dueled Yuma Tsukumo in the anime.

The Four Heavenly Dragons - Starve Venom Fusion Dragon has an effect similar to that of Super Fusion—one of the iconic cards used by Joeri in the Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V anime.

The Four Heavenly Dragons - Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon has a destruction effect similar to that of Phantom Knights Break Sword—one of the Xyz Monsters used by Ute in the Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V anime.

The monster's pose in the artwork is reminiscent of the original Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon's pose while attacking in the anime.

Varrel-Load Liberator Dragon's moniker ("Liberator") is a reference to how the Varrel-Load Extra Deck monsters (except the other Link Monsters) all include a similar moniker in their names that starts with the first letter of their respective summoning methods.

Triple Varrel Revolve having three gradual effects is a reference to how Revolver was the one who told Yusaku Fujiki, who was imprisoned during the Lost Incident as a child, "not to forget thinking about three things." This resulted in Yusaku developing a habit of often explaining himself using a list of three separate reasons when he grew older.

Demiurgos is the Ancient Greek word for demiurge—a being responsible for the creation of the universe.

This card was made to incorporate the effects of two anime cards that were used alongside it in the GX anime: Shadow Moon and Blue Moon ~A Bloodstained Moon~.

The God of Darkness - Dark God incorporates the effect of the anime card Infinite Demon-Invoking Mirror, which created multiple copies of this monster on the field.

Thundering of the Gods (Kaminari) is an archaic Japanese term for "lightning." In modern times, the Japanese word for "lightning" is written with one single kanji also read as kaminari.

Gatling Ogre is named after a Gatling gun—a rapid-fire, crank-driven gun with a cylindrical cluster of several barrels.
